Bogo City is a fourth class city located in the northern part of the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 69,911 people.

It was named after a tree that abounds in the locality and have been part of the town's trading culture before the turn of the 19th century. The people were highly engaged in fishing, agriculture and commerce and trading is done at the shade of these Bogo trees.

Established as a parish on May 31, 1850, Bogo’s patron was San Vicente Ferrer. Its old church, located near the town plaza, was described as having walls of tabique pampango, posts of wood, and a roof of thatch cogon. The current church of Bogo was built in the post-war era. Bogo City celebrates its annual town fiesta every fourth Sunday of May in honor of its patron saint San Vicente Ferrer.

Bogo has an area of 10,545 hectares, which constitutes 2.7% of the total land area of Cebu province. It has 29 barangays or villages, seven of which are located along the coast. The city belongs to the 4th Congressional District of Cebu. The city has a gentle rolling terrain to nearly level along the northeastern portion consisting of barangays Don Pedro Rodriguez, Polambato, Cayang, Poblacion, Dakit, Malingin, Gairan, and Nailon. It has a coastal line running approximately 27 kms., fringed with coral formations with pockets of sandy shores at Nailon, Siocon, and Odlot.

From the central coastal area, running through the interior is a rolling terrain, except along the eastern coastal portion, which is rugged and has a steep slope. Pintos: Best North Cebu Pasalubong

Your best bet for a  Cebu Pasalubong Center when you are travelling up north of the island is the central bus terminal in the City of Bogo. This is where you can get local delicacy as your pasalubong. If you are thinking of what to bring back home, I suggest getting the kakanin called Pintos.

How Pintos Made?

A spoonful of the  corn mixture following a traditional recipe is then placed in the middle of the young corn husk, after which the husk ends are folded and tied to effectively wrap the the mixture in.

Pintos is made from corn,  condensed milk, and either butter (special) or margarine (ordinary) and wrapped with the husk (or it is sheath) of corn's ear.

Pintos are ubiquitously wrapped delicacies that looks like Suman
(a type of rice cake) except that banana leaves are not used.

Steamed until cook.

Special Pintos may have additional ingredients like cheese, or strips of coconut.
Pintos is almost like tamales without the savory ingredients.

At the bus stops, a pack of five is sold at 50 pesos and higher if it's special.

It is best eaten when still hot and steaming!!!

If you have a sweet tooth and loves delectable cakes and pastries, you would probably find the taste of Pintos.

I consider Pintos, the top picks for pasalubong food items from Cebu North. You can try it if you want, but i still maintain the best place to get this pintos is straight from Bogo City.

Pintos Festival

Held 26th - 27th May every year. The dance is the story of making of the pintos a delicacy famous in Bogo and is a celebration of life and a tribute to thier Patron Saint  St. Vincent Ferrer.

Kuyayang
‘Kuyayang’ is a courtship dance of the Bogohanons that is staged before the community during fiestas.

The Official Pintos Festival Jingle was composed by Mr. Dante J. Mayor with the assistance of Christian Yurango. The composition was finalized with the musical guidance of Mr. Slavsky Ybañez. The lyrics was originally written by Mr. Gremer Chan Reyes and was edited by Dante J. Mayor and Rev. Fr. Eligio M. Suico.

The latest version of the Bogo Pintos Festival Jingle was rearranged by Elvis Somosot and was recorded at his own studio at Musikinesis, beside Plaza Independencia, Cebu City. It was recorded last July 22, 2011 by the selected Bogo City Employees under the baton of Mr. Slavsky Ybañez.

The sweet delicacy is now the center of efforts to promote the city, through the Pintos Festival. This street mardi gras as a cultural tourism festival of Bogo manifests the cultural heritage of the town and serves as an avenue for cultural conservancy of the city.

  6. Reliable tyre brands usually offer better durability, smoother rides, and improved fuel efficiency. While cheaper tyres may seem attractive initially, investing in good-quality tyres can save money in the long run by reducing wear and improving vehicle performance. You should also consider factors like driving habits, load capacity, and fuel efficiency ratings when selecting tyres. For example, drivers who travel long distances daily may prefer tyres designed for high mileage and low rolling resistance. Regular tyre maintenance is just as important as choosing the right tyre. Keeping tyres properly inflated, rotating them regularly, and checking alignment can extend tyre life and improve safety on the road. By understanding tyre sizes, tread patterns, driving conditions, and tyre quality, you can confidently choose the perfect tyre for your vehicle. The right tyres not only improve driving comfort but also play a crucial role in keeping you and your passengers safe on the road.
